Mirrored Images

I have always enjoyed art. While growing up I tried my hand at weaving, macrame, knitting, crocheting, ceramics & soft sculpture. Nothing held my interest until my sister introduced me to stained glass in 2002. I have been playing with glass ever since I made my first pink heart.

The mirrors came from a broken wall mirror that I saved. Several months later, I cut the shape of a face and added brown wavy hair and a large pink bow.Pinkbow Mirror A friend saw her hanging in my bedroom and asked if I would make one for her godchild. She brought me a photo of the girl, and I made a mirror of the child with braids, a blouse, sweater, buttons. It was so much fun, and the little girl liked it. This simple idea became a unique gift for my grandson, my daughters, son-in-law. And now I want to offer this gift to anyone who has a favorite photo they would like to replicate in mirror and stained glass.

A truly unique, “one of a kind” gift appropriate for anyone. It will become a keepsake to the receiver, reminding them of their youth while gazing in the mirror.

The joy and peace I first experienced when practicing yoga encouraged the creation of a series of Yoga Postures in stained glass. Most of the pieces average 14 to 15″ in height and have an overlay explaining the posture. Below are the Crescent Moon, the Lotus, the Triangle and the Awkward (or chair) Pose.

Recent additions to the postures are the Eagle Posture,eagle-posture.jpg where your arms are twisted around each other and your legs are also twisted as you squat balancing on one foot. The overlay of an eagle in white wispy glass reminds you of the name of the posture. wheel-posture.jpgMy favorite new posture is the Wheel Posture, where I have an overlay of a wheel of nuggets with a red heart in the center.
